The AILit Framework (EU/OECD, June 2026) defines AI literacy in 4 domains and 19 competences; UNESCO's AI Competency Framework for Students (2024) is the global reference, with the human-centred mindset first among its four aspects. Every resource here names the AILit competences it builds and the UNESCO blocks it covers, so your curriculum statement can cite either, or both.

Sort the cards, find your pile
Lesson resources and activities for the children in your life: classroom packs for teachers, Homefun packs for parents. Everything is printable and honest about what it asks of you. The starter resources are free and stay free; the deeper packs are paid, €19 each, one per age band. New resources are added through the summer.
No Screens Needed: the starter pack
A story, a sorting game, a debate and a design challenge. Children learn what a pattern machine is, which jobs deserve a human, and how to design a helper that keeps secrets. Four activities, five printables, zero devices.
Should You Trust It?
One lesson on the verification habit: accept, revise or reject an AI answer, with planted errors adults miss too. Print-and-teach; an optional live-tool variant for 13+.
Know or Guess?
Four sessions on the most useful question a child can ask a machine: did you look, or did you guess? A treasure hunt, a new Pip story, a whole-body game and a rules card that puts the child in charge.
Second Opinions
The checking habit, built before the chatbot years: catch a confident helper being wrong, out-recommend a machine, meet the gap between a person and their data, and split a party plan between human and machine jobs.
The For You Machine
Four lessons on the systems that already choose for your students: myth-busting posters, the recommender audited from inside, a free app priced properly, and tools matched to tasks by how they fail. Optional 13+ tool variants.
Burden of Proof
TOK-method lessons for students old enough to be answerable: marketing claims stripped to mechanism, AI-written history against primary sources, principles in tension, and a delegation memo they sign for real coursework.

The best first AI lesson has no AI in it.
Everything a young child needs to understand about AI can be shown with a story, some cards and a pencil: machines that guess from patterns, sound confident when wrong, learn whatever their examples teach them, and follow words instead of meaning. None of that needs a screen. All of it needs a conversation.
There is also a plainer reason. Most AI tools set their minimum age at 13 or higher, and European data protection law takes children's consent seriously. Resources that assume eight-year-olds have chatbot accounts are not being honest with you.
So our young-learner materials collect nothing, install nothing and require nothing. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and the one we would encourage you to hold every AI product to.

AI Safe Lens education resources are written by Diana, founder of AI Safe Lens: a former IB Theory of Knowledge teacher and examiner with almost two decades in education, later an operations manager in cyber security and an ISO 27001 lead, now an AI literacy educator, AI architect and builder, and EU AI compliance consultant in Spain. She builds and runs her own AI tools, so the resources come from practice as well as theory: they say what AI can do, what it cannot, and where the evidence is thin, in language a staffroom or a kitchen can use.
